Inspiration for our gardens
The gardens at Basedow Haus have been completely revitalised in several stages. Lawns were replanted, rock borders realigned, roses rejuvenated and hedges planted along the fences along with hundreds of new plants.
We have drawn inspiration for our new plantings from the surrounding grape and gum country. Thanks to Mandy Andrews from The Garden Barossa who has provided us with brilliant landscaping, planting advice and service.
To complement the vineyard views at the front of the house we have planted ornamental grapes vines to cover the pergola and alfresco area along with other deciduous trees to provide much needed shade in the summer, a fabulous display of autumn colour and to make the most of winter sun.
With our giant Casuarinas (she-oaks) and nearby gum trees seen from the back, we are planting many more native plants to attract local bird life, bees and insects.
A veggie patch and expanded garden beds are amongst our next projects.
